According to global media reports, the aggressive opening batsman of the Kiwi team, Martin Guptill, announced his retirement on Thursday, marking the end of his decade-long career in international cricket.

Martin Guptill is considered one of the best players in the T20 format. He has also showcased his skills in ODIs and Tests.
The 38-year-old cricketer last represented New Zealand in October 2022. Guptill played over 350 international matches for New Zealand, making his debut in 2009 against the West Indies. He has represented New Zealand in 47 Test matches, 198 ODIs, and 122 T20 internationals.
Guptill holds the record for the most T20 runs for New Zealand, having scored 3531 runs in 122 matches at a strike rate of 135.70.
In ODIs, Guptill is highly regarded for his consistency and skill. One of his most memorable innings was a stunning 237 against the West Indies in 2015.
In addition to his achievements in ODIs and T20s, Guptill also played a key role in Test cricket. He scored 2586 runs, including three centuries, in 47 Test matches.
