Pakistan Human Trafcking

An investigation into the boat tragedy in Greece has revealed that 18 officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) were involved in facilitating the departure of the affected youth from Faisalabad Airport in exchange for money. According to the inquiry report, the staff at the airport cooperated with human traffickers in return for monetary compensation. The FIA officials, including Constable Muhammad Shehzad, made deals with the human traffickers. They charged 25,000 rupees per passenger for clearance, and 100,000 rupees were paid for smuggling four youths out of the airport.The FIA is conducting an inquiry into the 18 officials involved, with their connections to human traffickers now exposed. These officials have been arrested, and a case has been filed against them.Furthermore, the FIA officials arrested have filed a bail request, and a hearing took place in the Special Court (Central). The judge deferred the decision on their bail request and summoned the plaintiff in the case for January 15.The boat accident occurred between December 13 and 14, 2024, near the Greek island of Crete. Forty-four Pakistanis were rescued from a boat traveling from Libya’s Tobruk to Greece. So far, the bodies of nine Pakistanis have been found, and the remaining missing individuals have been declared dead.
